          Got it super late, and it only displays a distorted image, I did all of the troubleshooting to narrow it down to a broken cable, not impressed

            Using with a 2019 MacBook Pro. The external monitor connected to this dongle *never* retains its connection after laptop emerges from 'sleep' mode. Need to unplug and re-plug the HDMI cable a dozen times before the monitor finally re-connects. It's either that or re-start the laptop. Higher quality HDMI adapters never gave this problem. Then finally after 2 months this device stopped working altogether.
