These work fine and charge the batteries quickly. I did discover that their built in protection will not charge completely dead batteries. I was able to resurrect a couple of battery packs by opening the pack and using a LithIon 4.2V charger to individually charge the 5 batteries (which are in series) using alligator clips - one at a time. Once I charged each of them then the pack was resurrected and the charger worked as normal - with the pack seemingly retaining its charge and duration. It is likely a design feature/protection for safety reasons which discounts for completely dead (looks like shorted to the circuitry) battery packs. Dont let the batteries get that low.
