Very compatible, even with Synology Active Backup for Business Recovery (embedded Windows WinPE stuff). Interestingly, the drivers are included in the adapter itself, should you ever need it. Good design, I would say, because if you are required to connect to the network to download a network driver it would become chicken-and-egg.
