The self watering aspect takes up half of the planter space. This is planter holds as much as a 6" nursery pot. It does what i need it to do.

The planter itself is awesome, very solid. But for some reason I never got the alarm thing working properly, the moment I put it in it yells loudly even though there's plenty of water in there...
