I converted one of the rooms at my house as a home office / work from home. There are currently 3 desks back to back and all have heavy manager-style seats. The seats are very comfortable but their weight makes them rolling on the carpeted (medium pile) floor very difficult. You would really have to push yourself out to get the chair from under the table. I have a flat ikea kolon chair mat (47" x 39") which is designed for a flat wood floor. It works because I am able to tuck it underneath desks and furniture - except for one corner that always lifts up and trips me occasionally. Enter the moustache PVC chair mat. It is a little bit smaller than the other mat. This mat has cutouts on one edge for feet placement and this feature makes the mat feel a little bit smaller at 47" x 35". The width isn't a big issue because chair movement for me is basically front to back only. The biggest advantage of this chair mat are the 3mm spikes that dig into the carpet and allow it to not move around. I don't really have to tuck this mat under the furniture to stay put. The thickness of the mat itself is no different than my other mat (2mm) however, the old mat is made of PET/ polyurethane plastic while the Moustache mat is made from recycled PVC / polyvinyl chloride which by itself is naturally a slippier surface. The biggest disadvantage for me what that the Moustache mat arrived in a roll while the kolon mat was shipped flat. This made the moustache mat very difficult to flatten. The colder temperature (mid-December) did not help and laying it just on the floor wasn't enough because the spikes are doing too good of a job grabbing onto the carpet. However, after about 2 weeks of use and having the chair rolling over it, the mat has flattened out significantly. Previously, the chair casters would fall into the channel and be difficult to move, but much of that has been resolved. It probably also helped that I have the room thermostat turned up during the daytime when I'm working in the room. The mat is a big improvement. The mat itself is still not as flat as my other chair mat (as you can see in the picture where I encircled the undulations in red), but I am sure continued use and warmer weather will help later on. Overall I am quite happy with this mat. Price was excellent compared to other places.

Perfect size for my home office. Fairly good quality. I am happy with my purchase.

I hope it flattens out, shipped rolled. Have used boxes of books to help flatten it

Took a while to flatten out as they come rolled up pretty tightly, doesn't actually come with the indented end as shown in the stock picture though which was kind of disappointing, but they do stay flat, they don't move at all on the carpet and allow the chairs to roll smoothly.

Nice and strong

This is a replacement purchase. The mat layout instructions are easy to follow. The mat suits a medium pile rug. The chair glides easily on the mat. In the past, the plastic has started to break up after two years approximately.
