A great idea, but very flimsy and “loosey-goosey” in its construction. If I didn’t have a wall along the back of this “telescopic bookend”, and a wall on one end of the bookshelf (it’s in a corner spot) plus something it can lean on with the other end, it wouldn’t hold the books (not even big heavy ones) at all. From my experience with this, there is absolutely no way that this poor unit can hold magazines upright. I do not recommend this at all.
