I am glad that I chose this size because the liner is much smaller than the size of the garbage can. The liner which holds the bag is around 12.5 by 12.5 by 8.5 inches. I have Costco 37 litres bags and they fit fine albeit loose. The lid opens as expected. I open the lid by bending my knee over the sensor which is useful when you are holding a plate. You will need 3 AA batteries.

Super recommend it.

works well, only thing is it doesn't fit in the cabinet under the sink the lid hits the pipes on opening.
