The drop-down front is a little too long, so that when it is sitting as shown in the photograph, the front panel pushes the case over backwards. I have put a shot bag in mine, which weights it down, but it has to have some weight to stand upright. As a pencil case, it is great, as a holder for fountain pens it's pretty good. Overall, I'm pleased with it.
