I actually really like this knife and utensils holder, but it arrived with a ding and the bottom dislodged. I eventually got the bottom back on, but it still seems a little iffy given the ding on the corner and the way the bottom bends out slightly. However, it is the perfect solution to my kitchen layout problem. I have a large open kitchen with just one set of drawers at the opposite end of the room from the stove. So when cooking, I have to walk to the other end of the room whenever I need a utensil or, more irritatingly, a spoon, knife, or fork. Any utensil holder would solve the problem of storing utensils close to the stove, but this is the only one that lets me have kitchen cutlery handy without having to install a set of drawers or a rack. It sounds silly, but it's kind of game changing if you don't have a suitable place for cutlery close to the stove. This just makes grabbing a spoon or fork while cooking so much easier. Of course, you can always use it as intended and keep large knives in it too, but I don't use it for that.

Well built and a great concept. The knife holder is great because it allows for any mix of knives where as standard blocks typically don't work due to handle width. However the steel slots are a bit tight and are scratching the design on the blades of my steak knives. It's not a concern on the ceramic knives, but the Japanese steel blades are not a great choice for this holder

Very useful. Especially if you don't have a standard knife set.
