The frame is great, the process of putting it together is needlessly laborius. The thick coat of black paint coats the screw threads, so I highly recommend putting screws through all holes in the corner pieces (all the way through and back at least once) before assembly. It may feel you cannot; persist—go back and forth and try to get further each time. The middle bars are also a little too tight, but I did get all of them in all the way. Lastly, one of my pieces was bent at the end where another rod is meant to inserted, so I almost couldn't get it through, but I was able to force it in. I am very pleased with the end result, though: Over a foot of actual clearance for storage under the bed; unassuming, not an eyesore, sturdy.

It is functional, the instructions can be interpreted upon. When my son (26) put the frame together there was a temporary delay because he put the corner pieces left to right and right to left. We switched them around and it worked. So better marking would eliminate the problem.
