I purchased the VOKING 430 (for Canon) about one year and have not been disappointed; this has flash exceeded my expectations for the price. I wanted to start getting into external flash photography without a major outlay of cash, and this unit fits the bill. The flash has been working well since my purchase, and I have used it successfully for in a variety of photo situations. I am an amateur photographer, and while I don’t have any other flash to make a comparison, I will seriously look at the VOKING brand for my next flash purchase.

HOWEVER MY CAMERA IS A CANON, I BOUGHT THIS TO WORK AS OPTICAL SLAVE AND WORKS VERY GOOD. I JUST HAD TO ADD A LITTLE STRIP OF MAGIC SCOTCH TAPE OVER THE OPTICAL SENSOR TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE DRASTICALLY (that's a tip)

Unbeatable deal for the price. Good features. Strong enough for my need. Pair perfectly with my Nikon D5000. Would recommend Voking product anytime.

I purchased this flash mainly because of the special sale price at the time. For someone just starting out this flash would be fine. My only complaint is that when it is slave mode it really has to be direct line of site of the flash. It does not work as a slave in my modifiers.
