Great product, easy to set up. good price
SO far this product is pretty good. I have not used all the functions of it yet. But one thing I noticed, is I have two external hard drives. One is independently powered, and one is simply powered by the USB. I have found that the M* does not read media from the USB powered Hard Drive for some reason, but the AC powered HD works great with it. Another thing that let me down (and maybe it doesn't really matter, I am not a tech guy) is that the USB inputs on the M* are not 3.0 (they do not have the blue plastic piece, black only on both) which baffled me. Why wouldn't it have it? Any who, it worked great with my AC power external drive, then fed my TV using an HDMI cable. One more thing... I found it very difficult to change settings on this unit. Out of the box, the screen size was too big for my 42" TV, and I still haven't figured out how to resize it's output. I went through a bunch of setting options, and could not resize it. It is definitely better then the WD style one on the market. I have burned through two of them as they always crap out on me after about a year, and could not be bothered fighting with WD on "fixing" them. But the M8 has so far played all my shows in different formats so far, and has a kabillion (thats a word!) apps to surf the net, and goof around online. Almost like a tablet word. for $110 bucks or there abouts, its pretty good value, especially if you would use it with Bluetooth.
