I have been working with two monitors until now. This riser has allowed me to add my laptop to use as a third monitor. My laptop fits securely in the cradle and I was able to adjust the height to the proper sight line for my ergonomic needs. When I first unpacked it, I thought the 'hinges' seemed stiff, but quickly realized that it's necessary to ensure that the stand stays adjusted and doesn't slip down. No assembly required.

This laptop stand exceeded my expectations. It is a PrimeCables branded stand. However, it is sturdy, well-made, and holds up my 15.6 inch gaming laptop no problem. Best of all, when it's open, I can place my wireless keyboard and mouse right underneath for storage. Because the height adjustment and the viewing/working height are the same hinges, be forewarned that the hinges are very tight. So you'll have to pull on both ends to open up the stand and adjust as needed. Once it's open, it stays firmly positioned. So you won't need to worry about drooping of the hinges. Love the front edges to keep my laptop from sliding off when place on an angle even though it has rubber pads built in to keep your laptop from sliding around. You'll also need to place this stand on a desk or a sturdy, flat surface so when you place your open laptop on it, the whole thing wouldn't tip over from being back-heavy. Or just place a counterweight on the bottom to keep the stand from tipping over backwards if you have the stand adjusted on an extreme angle. This is a great buy if you can catch it on sale. Recommended, if you need an adjustable laptop stand to keep your laptop cool and save your neck and eyesight.

The screws are not accessible. Once this stand has loose screws, you cannot tighten them because they are hidden behind 2 layers: 1st an adhesive that you have to pry off, and a 2nd plastic layer that is glued onto the screw/tightening mechanism. It constantly sags and is useless as a laptop stand. I cannot return mine because I removed the adhesive, but all they had to do (which other laptop stands allow you to do) is not to glue the plastic round piece so the user can access and tighten the screws. Buy anything BUT this laptop stand. Import it from the US if you have to, but this one is a waste of money. Deeply disappointing.
