Some laptops come with USB-C pots these days without the consideration for previous peripherals acquired by potential users over their dive into the consumption of IT products. This item came in handy to ensure that I did not have to throw away my USB 3.1 flash drives. It works great so far and I am impressed about the cost-affordability. Whether it continues to perform optimally over time, um, I cannot say at this point.
