You may not be using this item on a regular basis but when you do, it is great to have the magnifier and the holding clip configuration to hold your project. I am glad I purchased it as it was on sale and I have used it 3 times now for those little projects that come up. 123Ink.ca web site is very user friendly and their service is top notch. I normally get my purchases from them within 24 to 48 hours.

I do soldering of guitar electronics and other light work, and this device holds the small parts very nicely. What I particularly appreciate is the built in LED light which many other stands do not have, as well as the additional 12X lens insert. The "ball joint" design is a simple friction clamp and a bit tricky to attach but seems to hold well. This is not a device I would recommend for continuous use, but for occasional work it's more than adequate. All in all good value for the money.

Will do the job for occasional work but if you plan on using it regularly I would get something better.

Feels better quality than most third hand products I've used. The light is a nice function. Does need batteries in the base to hold weight. The LED on off button seems like the cheapest of switches and wiring.
