As a larger person, I usually go through a standard chair from the cost store or the staple store in about a year. I am hoping this one will last a little longer. It does seem sturdy. But only time will tell if it will last. So, is this worth $250? I would have to day no. I purchased for around $170. This might be ok, provided it lasts. The seat is a little hard. it might soften up with some use. It was easy to put together. It has nice large bolts that seem to get good and tight. However, the little hex wrench that came with it is junk. It rounded off half way through the setup. It uses the same type of hex wrench as most other put together furniture, so you likely have a few in a drawer. The plastic on the arms is a little rough. There are clear imperfections. They are mostly on the underside of the arm, so shouldn't be visible most of the time. It did come with little plastic caps to cover the screws in the arms. No matter what I tried, i could not get these to fit flush. One refused to go in at all. I think it may be related to the quality of plastic in the arms.

I got this for my big and tall son. (6’4” and ~260lbs). He put it together easily, says it’s very comfortable, supportive and sturdy. He feels it will last longer than his previous desk chairs. He is a college student with some on-line classes so, between his school work and his gaming, it’s become the most used piece of furniture he has. It was purchased on sale…which was a bonus.

We like the chair, we replaced one due to piston failing after 1.5 year. I hope this one last longer. I have asked for piston part # to see if I can repair old chair
