Ergonomic Mesh Office Chair with Auto-Balance Segmented Backrest - Moustache®
So far so good after few days of use and I'm pleasantly surprised by this chair as it is sturdier than I thought. Easy to assemble: took about 20 minutes to unpack it all and assemble one chair without rushing. One page assembly instructions with images only but quite simple enough given there are only a dozen screws to care about. A nice thing is that they include a "spare parts kit" with one additional screws for each different size so in case you lose one you can still assemble the chair and are not stuck with a missing screw. The only "weak" point is the hex wrench itself (provided with the chair screws/kit) that is a bit too soft if you want to tighten the screws well enough. I used my own one and it was better. On the chair itself: - Overall I'd say this chair would fit for people in the range 5'6" to 6'1" roughly, depending on how you adjust height, headrest, armrests, etc. - Good stability with the 5-wheels base and quite sturdy for that price range with solid metal and not a plastic base. Wheels are plastic but work/roll fine on the wooden floor of home office. - Mesh seating and back are quite comfortable and large enough. The segmented back is a really nice feature to me compared to similar chairs and it does its job. - Armrests are large enough to have forearms on it without falling off on the sides, and height can be adjusted easily. "Width" can be slightly adjusted with the screws if you want to, even though not necessary in my case. - Tilt positions are good and chair keeps stability when reclined even at max: a really good point for me compared to many other chairs that start to be flimsy or tremble like a jelly when you go over 30°. You can lock the back in 3 positions or leave it unlocked if you want something a bit like a rocking chair with some balancing move. - Height adjustment is easy and works well. Headrest is fine and angle can be twisted as described but do not expect this to change your life. It works as described and does its job.
Excellent chair for the money. The overall shape of the chair provides good lumbar and neck support when you rest back against it, and when the seat is in the upright position the armrests are just right for using a computer. At the front of the chair there is foam beneath the mesh ensure your leg doesn't rest on the plastic frame. In the fully reclined position, I found the chair to be comfortable enough to sleep several hours in. I did find the armrests too far forward to be of any use in that position, but that was only a minor annoyance. As noted in other reviews, the mesh is not a fabric-like mesh, but rather combination of synthetic fibers and plastic mesh woven together. The surface feels reasonably comfortable and has been resistant to wear. The mesh continues to hold my weight well. The leg rest is a plastic plate with a foam cushion on top, and extends from the chair on two metal bars. I was worried that the leg rest would be flimsy, but it convincingly held the weight of my legs, and I did not notice any flexing in the mechanism holding it to the chair. Unfortunately, the chair began to squeak from the tilting mechanism after a couple months of sitting in it. However, the noises are bearable and only happen when I shift my balance. Additionally, other reviews have noted that the wheels aren't fantastic. I found them adequate on carpets, flooring, and thin rugs, but they certainly take some effort to roll around. Overall, I would absolutely recommend this chair to anyone on a tight budget looking to upgrade from a basic office chair.
